Buckeye vs. Keystone: Score, High School Football & Preview

Published September 4, 2026 at 7:22 pm

Buckeye visits Keystone tonight in a game between teams from the Lorain County, Ohio, area, part of the OHSAA’s busy schedule this week.

The Game

Keystone, based in LaGrange, Ohio, hosts Buckeye in what is shaping up to be a competitive non-conference test for both teams early in the season. Games between schools from the Lorain County area, like these two, often carry added local significance even outside of the league, as many of these programs share players, coaches, or community ties across county lines.

How to Watch

There’s a very helpful local answer: the Buckeye-Keystone game is being broadcast on WEOL, a local radio station that offers live scores, play-by-play commentary, and results. This is important for readers who can’t attend the game in person but want live updates: check WEOL’s website or schedule for tonight’s broadcast time.

Note on tonight’s score

I’ve been able to confirm that this game is being played and where to watch it live, but I don’t yet have the final score. Please check WEOL’s broadcast or a live scoreboard for the result and update this section as soon as it’s confirmed.

Ragsdale vs. T. Wingate Andrews: Score, High School Football & Rivalry History

Published September 4, 2026 at 7:22 pm

Ragsdale and T. Wingate Andrews face off again tonight in a non-conference matchup that, in recent years, has been closer than the scores suggest. Last season’s meeting was thrilling down to the wire: T.W. Andrews edged Ragsdale 8-6, stifling the Tigers with a fourth-down pass from the Red Raiders’ 18-yard line in the final minute to seal the victory. Quarterback Cayden Zellous threw for 64 yards and a touchdown to Von Martin in that game, and the win extended Andrews’ winning streak to three games.

Schedule Context

High Point’s T. Wingate Andrews has generally been the more consistent program in this series lately. Jamestown-based Ragsdale comes in tonight looking to reverse a recent slump that included a four-game losing streak dating back to last season. Both teams tend to favor a defensive, low-scoring, and close style of football in this particular matchup. Last year’s final, which ended 8-6, is a good example of what tonight’s game could look like if this trend continues.

How to Watch

This game is broadcast on the NFHS Network, which regularly airs Ragsdale and T. Wingate Andrews college football games, including full replays after the final buzzer. Check each team’s page on the NFHS Network for tonight’s specific stream link.

Note on Tonight’s Score

I was able to confirm last year’s result (8-6), but I couldn’t verify tonight’s score via a search at the time of writing. Please update this section once the final score is known; given how close this series has been lately, it’s worth getting it right.

2026 Wisconsin High School Football Scores and Schedules

Published September 2, 2026 at 1:54 pm

High school football in Wisconsin is back, and the state preseason landscape is largely defined by how close last year’s Division I championship game was. Here’s what you need to know heading into 2026.

Arrowhead Starts as the No. 1 Seed

Arrowhead begins the season as the top-ranked team in the state after defeating Bay Port 18-15 in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division I championship game last November, the program’s seventh state title. The Warhawks boast a strong core of experienced offensive starters, which largely explains why they are favored to repeat as champions, and they already proved it in the lead-up to 2026 with a 35-7 victory over Neenah.

Bay Port and Waunakee Close Behind

Bay Port isn’t far behind after coming within a two-point conversion of forcing overtime in that championship game. Coach Steve Jorgensen opted to go for the win instead of playing for a tie, and the Pirates came within a whisker of victory. Bay Port’s offense was one of the best in the state last season, averaging 43.4 points per game, and they have enough returning starters to be a contender in 2026. Waunakee also came close to a title run, falling to Arrowhead by a narrow 19-17 score; the Warriors were just one defensive stop away from reaching the final.

A Blazing Start to the Season

The first week of the season in Wisconsin has already produced some surprising results: Muskego, the No. 1 pick in an early poll, routed Oak Creek 63-23, while Franklin fell to Waunakee 34-7. Stratford and Edgar, two of the state’s top small-school programs, resume their annual matchup in the second week, a rivalry that always delivers one of the best games in Wisconsin’s lower-level basketball.

Where to Find the Schedules

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) 2026 football schedule lists the first games as beginning on August 20, the playoffs on October 15, and the state championship game on November 14 at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School. Complete schedules for teams in all 49 conferences and 361 WIAA member schools are available on the WIAA website and in the Wisconsin football section of MaxPreps.

Following the Season

In Wisconsin, nearly 200 games are typically played statewide on a single Friday in the fall during the high season, many of them against seeded teams. We will be closely following the results throughout 2026.

2026 Texas High School Football Scores, Schedules And Update Results

Published August 29, 2026 at 8:00 pm

Texas high school football needs no introduction, and this year’s preseason promises to be as exciting as ever. DeSoto begins 2026 as the number one team in the state after a victorious season that started slowly but culminated in the UIL Division I, Class 6A state championship. Galena Park North Shore is ranked number four after finishing last season in the top five of the final Massey rankings, with Allen rounding out the top five with a 14-1 record.

Six of the top ten teams in the state in the preseason hail from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, demonstrating the high concentration of talent in Texas right now. Of the top 100 national recruits for the Class of 2027, twelve are from Texas high schools, confirming that Texas high school football is not just a buzzword, but a true talent pool that feeds college programs across the country every year.

The UIL manages Texas public school football through more than 1,200 member teams across a dozen different divisions. Because of this, outlets like Dave Campbell’s Texas Football publish program rankings throughout the season, in addition to weekly polls. With over 1,200 teams, ranking each one requires specialized infrastructure that most states don’t need. TAPPS, the state association of private schools, adds its own playoff bracket and standings.

For schedules, the UIL website and MaxPreps’ Texas football section are the most comprehensive sources, broken down by ranking and division. A helpful tip for 2026: The UIL introduced new heat safety rules for practices and games starting August 1, so it’s a good idea to check early-season game times on team websites, as they may vary more than usual this year.

2026 Montana High School Football Scores, Results and Schedules

Published August 29, 2026 at 7:55 pm

Montana high school football returns for another fall, with the 2026 Montana High School Association (MHA) playoff bracket scheduled to begin October 30-31 in the AA, A, and B divisions (8-player) and the C division (6-player). Between now and then, teams across the state will play their regular-season schedules in pursuit of a postseason berth.

The football scene in Montana is truly statewide, not concentrated in a single metropolitan area: programs in Billings, Missoula, Great Falls, Bozeman, Helena, Butte, and dozens of smaller towns compete for a state title, and the sport holds significant importance in cities where football is one of the few fall sports. One name worth remembering heading into 2026: Kalispell Glacier, which recently became the third program in Montana history to win 11 or more consecutive state titles—a streak so sustained that it places them in an elite group nationally, not just statewide.

Montana’s state rankings for the 2026 season are compiled by outlets like On3, whose system combines data from the Massey, MaxPreps, ESPN, and SI rankings to create a geographically balanced picture. This is helpful given that Montana’s rankings and the long distances between cities make it difficult to create a single, straightforward ranking compared to smaller, more densely populated states.

For team schedules, the Montana High School Association website and MaxPreps’ Montana football section are the most reliable sources, as both present the information by ranking.

2026 Tennessee High School Football Player Rankings: Top 5 Recruits

Published August 27, 2026 at 6:50 pm

The talent pool of high school football players in Tennessee has never been more abundant, and the class of 2026 is proof of that. Led by a five-star quarterback who has already committed to one of the sport’s top programs, here are the state’s top-ranked players heading into the season.

No. 1: Jared Curtis, QB, Nashville Christian School

Curtis leads Tennessee’s rankings by a wide margin: a five-star prospect, considered the second-best recruit in the nation and the No. 1 quarterback in his class, according to the On3/Rivals rankings. A quarterback of that caliber playing in his home state gives Tennessee fans a unique opportunity to see a true national-elite prospect every Friday night before he takes the leap to the next level.

No. 2: Zay Anderson, CB, Greeneville

Anderson is a five-star cornerback, ranked among the top 105 nationally and the second-best player in Tennessee, regardless of position. Elite cornerbacks with this kind of composite rating often make the difference in the state’s biggest games, completely shutting down the opposing team’s best receiver.

No. 3: Caden Harris, CB, Haywood

Harris gives Tennessee two consecutive elite prospects at the top of their rankings, with a five-star rating and the third-best player in the state. Having two such highly regarded cornerbacks in the same draft class is a clear indication of the great defensive talent currently being produced in West Tennessee.

No. 4: Joel Wyatt, S, Oakland

Wyatt, a 6-foot-4 safety from Murfreesboro, rounds out the top four in the state with a five-star rating and a top-125 national ranking. His size for the position is immediately apparent on film: his wingspan allows him to play up the middle one play and drop back to make a tackle at the line of scrimmage the next.

No. 5: Tyreek King, WR, Knoxville Catholic

King rounds out the statewide top five five-star wide receiver, giving Knoxville Catholic a key player at that position heading into the season. Programs with such a highly rated receiver often base their offense on creating favorable matchups for him throughout the year.

What This Class Reveals About Tennessee Football

Five five-star prospects in a single statewide class—spread across four different high schools and regions, from Nashville to Greeneville and Knoxville—reflect the breadth of talent in Tennessee. It’s not concentrated in a single city or elite program; it’s distributed throughout the state, which typically leads to a more competitive season at the state level.

2026 New Jersey High School Football Scores & Schedules Update

Published August 25, 2026 at 7:32 pm

One important point to note: the 2026 New Jersey season is just getting underway, with the opening games of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NSAA) regular season taking place in the coming days. This means there are no final scores to report yet; this article is based on real and confirmed schedule and preview information and is intended to be the page you update with the actual scores once Friday night’s games begin.

An Exciting Season Ahead

The 2026 New Jersey schedule is packed with great games. The state regular season is filled with rematches of last year’s state championship games, interstate matchups against powerhouses from other states, and storied rivalries that carry weight far beyond any single season record.

Following a great year, St. Joseph Regional enters 2026 as one of the teams to beat. The Green Knights captured the program’s first state championship since head coach Augie Hoffmann’s return for his second stint, finishing with a 10-2 record and securing the second-highest ranking in the state. They boast one of the best defenses in the Northeast, led by two promising linebackers and defensive ends who have already garnered attention from college programs.

Meanwhile, Glassboro enters the year on the back of an undefeated 14-0 season and added a high-profile player during the preseason: a quarterback committed to Syracuse who threw for over 2,400 yards and 34 touchdowns at his previous school. Traditional teams like Bergen Catholic, Don Bosco Prep, and St. Peter’s Prep round out the group of programs expected to contend for a strong playoff run.

Where to find team schedules

The complete 2026 schedules are being released program by program across the state. The official NJSIAA season schedule and outlets like MaxPreps and SBLive New Jersey compile each team’s schedule as it’s finalized. If you follow a particular program’s full season, these are the most reliable sources to consult, as exact tip-off times are sometimes added closer to game day.

Tracking the Results Once the Season Begins

Once Friday nights begin, the New Jersey schedule typically features more than 100 games in a single week during the middle of the season, with an increasing proportion of games involving teams ranked in the state’s top 25 as October and November approach. We’ll be tracking those results as the season progresses.

IMG Academy This Week: Score & Results

Published August 25, 2026 at 3:39 pm

IMG Academy opened its 2026 season just as most of the country expected: with absolute dominance. The Bradenton-based national powerhouse traveled to Utah and returned with a 59-3 victory that was never in doubt; this win was part of the season opener, in which the Ascenders once again proved they are one of the nation’s best teams, regardless of the opponent.

IMG Academy 59, Lone Peak 3

In front of a large crowd and a local television audience in Highland, Utah, IMG capitalized on four turnovers and a muffed punt to decisively defeat Lone Peak (59-3) on Friday, August 21. Lone Peak coach Bart Brockbank—whose team managed just 79 total yards—called IMG the best team he had ever faced, comparing the talent gap to playing against the NBA.

It took IMG less than 30 seconds of game time to pull ahead, and Lone Peak’s night went downhill from there; the Knights barely managed to avoid being shut out (scoring no points) for the first time since 2007. For a program built from top recruits across the country—rather than being limited to a local geographic area—results like this are less of a surprise and more of a formality.

What’s next for IMG?

IMG Academy is scheduled to host St. Louis (Missouri) on September 5 in a game already expected to be highly lopsided; computer ranking systems gave the Ascenders a 98% chance of winning at the start of the season. That type of national schedule—seeking out renowned opponents from across the country rather than sticking to a regional schedule—is precisely what sets IMG apart from a typical high school program, and it is one of the main reasons the Ascenders began the year ranked No. 1 in Florida. Check our results page for updates as the IMG season progresses, and our rankings page to see the Ascenders’ national standing.

Alabama High School Football: Last Week’s Top Team Results

Published August 24, 2026 at 7:09 pm

Alabama’s top-ranked programs made a statement last week, and the scoreboard says it all. From a blowout victory in a rivalry game to a thrilling 56-42 game in the Auburn area, here’s how the state’s top teams fared and what it means heading into the next stretch of the season.

Thompson 41, Central 14

No. 1 seed Thompson defeated Central 41-14 in an out-of-region game on August 20, a rematch of what many considered Alabama’s game of the year in 2025, when Thompson escaped with a close 35-34 playoff victory. This time, there was nothing close about it. A 27-point margin against a program that had Thompson on the ropes just months earlier is precisely the kind of decisive win that keeps a team atop the state rankings heading into the toughest part of the season.

Clay-Chalkville 29, Creekside 20

Clay-Chalkville, the second-best team in the state, improved to 2-0 with a 29-20 victory over Creekside on August 21 at 8 p.m. While it wasn’t the blowout that Thompson handed them, a nine-point win in an out-of-region game against a quality opponent is a great way to build momentum early in the season without exposing too much of future opponents on video.

Hewitt-Trussville 56, Auburn 42

Hewitt-Trussville edged Auburn 56-42 in one of the highest-scoring games of the week statewide, a fast-paced encounter where both offenses scored repeatedly. Games like this often raise as many questions as they answer: a game with 98 combined points says as much about two weak defenses as it does about two explosive offenses, and it will be worth watching to see if either team improves their play before the start of the regional league.

What does this mean for the state standings?

Thompson began the season ranked No. 1 in the Alabama Sportswriters Association’s Class 7A preseason standings, while Clay-Chalkville started atop the 6A standings after a 15-0 record last season. Both teams did exactly what you’d expect from a top-tier team on a crucial week: win, and win comfortably. Hewitt-Trussville’s victory over Auburn in a high-scoring game is the kind of result that could influence this week’s regional and national standings, even if it wasn’t a flawless performance by either team.

This Week’s Top High School Football Teams — Scores & Results

Published August 21, 2026 at 7:52 pm

The national picture in high school football got a lot clearer this week. Here’s a look at the top-ranked teams in action, headlined by a season-opening showdown that both programs treated as a de facto national championship game.

Game of the Week: No. 1 St. John Bosco at No. 2 Bishop Gorman

St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) traveled to Bishop Gorman’s Fertitta Field in Las Vegas on Friday night for the two teams’ first meeting since 2016, with both programs entering unbeaten in the series’ history between them at the top of the national rankings. Bishop Gorman entered the night having never lost to St. John Bosco, holding a 2-0 all-time edge in the series, including wins in 2014 and 2016.

Final score: MaxPress

Bishop Gorman entered the week 1-0 after a 41-0 win over Somerset Academy Losee in a season opener that was called at halftime due to lightning, with the Gaels rotating two quarterbacks — senior Chance Thomas and junior Ace Amina — as they prepared for the Bosco showdown.

Other Top-Ranked Teams to Watch

  • Buford (Ga.) — The reigning 2025 national champions opened defense of their title at home against Gainesville, one of the season’s marquee Georgia matchups.
  • Duncanville (Texas) — Opened its season on the road against a ranked opponent as one of the sport’s traditional Texas powers.
  • St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) — Entered the week ranked in the national top 5, with Florida once again fielding one of the deepest groups of nationally-ranked programs.
  • Thompson (Ala.) — Renewed its rivalry with Central (Phenix City), a rematch of what was arguably Alabama’s game of the year last season, when Thompson won a 35-34 playoff thriller.

Why This Week Matters

Unlike college football, high school football has no playoff system that crowns one undisputed national champion — instead, publications like MaxPreps, High School Football America, and USA Today each name their own mythical national champion at season’s end, based largely on how teams perform in exactly these kinds of early marquee matchups. That’s what made this week’s St. John Bosco–Bishop Gorman game so significant: an August loss can shape a team’s national championship case just as much as anything that happens in November.

Check our Scores page for full results from this week’s games, and our Rankings page for the latest Top 10.
