Ragsdale and T. Wingate Andrews face off again tonight in a non-conference matchup that, in recent years, has been closer than the scores suggest. Last season’s meeting was thrilling down to the wire: T.W. Andrews edged Ragsdale 8-6, stifling the Tigers with a fourth-down pass from the Red Raiders’ 18-yard line in the final minute to seal the victory. Quarterback Cayden Zellous threw for 64 yards and a touchdown to Von Martin in that game, and the win extended Andrews’ winning streak to three games.
Schedule Context
High Point’s T. Wingate Andrews has generally been the more consistent program in this series lately. Jamestown-based Ragsdale comes in tonight looking to reverse a recent slump that included a four-game losing streak dating back to last season. Both teams tend to favor a defensive, low-scoring, and close style of football in this particular matchup. Last year’s final, which ended 8-6, is a good example of what tonight’s game could look like if this trend continues.

Note on Tonight’s Score
I was able to confirm last year’s result (8-6), but I couldn’t verify tonight’s score via a search at the time of writing. Please update this section once the final score is known; given how close this series has been lately, it’s worth getting it right.
