Wake Preparatory Academy and Pamlico County meet tonight in a North Carolina non-league matchup, part of a loaded NCHSAA slate across the state this week. This is a rematch of last season’s meeting, when Wake Prep handled Pamlico County 54-8 — a lopsided result that makes tonight’s rematch one where Pamlico County will be looking for real improvement rather than an upset.
The Matchup
Wake Preparatory Academy, based in Wake Forest, enters as the far more established program in this series recently, closing out last season with a 7-3 overall record. Pamlico County, out of Bayboro, has had a tougher recent stretch, including playoff losses to Southside and East Carteret last November. This non-league meeting gives both programs an early measuring stick before their respective conference schedules heat up.
